Watermelon - Starburst Hotpad

Hot pads are really pretty and easy to make . There are so many free patterns on raverly, but this one caught my eye because of its beauty and simple pattern. I named mine the watermelon hot pad because the color reminds me of juicy watermelon slices :).

The individual motifs are easy to make and they are all joined together with sc on one side,

and continued joining on the other sides with sc as well.

When that is done the center is sewn together firmly which causes part of the motifs to fold over looking like petals. This part can be a little tricky, but there are a few tutorials on YouTube on how to make this Starburst Hot pad. The pattern link can be found Here
